Governors

The Board of Governors of the Stonehenge School is responsible for the strategic direction, ethos and overall governance of the Stonehenge School. Its core functions are:

• To set the vision and strategic direction of the school

• To hold the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school

• To ensure that the school’s financial resources are well spent

 The Board of Governors shall be no less than 7 governors and no more than 15 governors and consist of:

  • Up to 6 parent governors and no less than 2
  • One Local Authority governor
  • One staff governor
  • One Head Teacher, who sits ex officio and may choose not to be appointed as a governor
  • Up to 6 co-opted governors, as required to fulfil key responsibilities

Rev Barry Davis is Minister of Amesbury Baptist Church, Council of Reference for the Bridge Project and Chaplain to Amesbury Police and Salisbury Response Teams.  There are several members of Rev Davis’ church who are members of staff at the school.
