Remembrance Day Parade

As the annual Rememberance services were held across the country a number of our students were involved in the Amesbury ceremonies be it in the band, choir or in the cadets on parade.

We received this wonderful letter from Mr Jones, the Amesbury Poppy Appeal Co-ordinator -

Amesbury town held their annual Remembrance service last Sunday, being led and organised by the Amesbury Branch of the Royal British legion, and this year, two of your pupils played a significant and moving part in the service.
Head boy, Ben Collett, and Head Girl, Abigail Churcher, between them read the names of the fallen of Amesbury to the amassed congregation in the churchyard. It is a solemn part of the service, and they both performed their task with great dignity, and spoke with confidence and clarity.
I, on behalf of the Branch, thank them for their contribution to the service, and feel that maybe this might become a regular opportunity for your school to participate in future events.
They were awarded with a certificate for their readings, by the senior officer at the ceremony, Wing Cdr. Vince Thomas of Boscombe Down, and  have attached some photographs taken of the awards for your school album.
Finally, I wish to express my gratitude to another pupil of yours, Joshua Riggs, who this year took responsibility for taking on and helping raise funds through our poppy appeal in the school, and this year raised £170.82!.
You have reason to be proud of these young people, as they have all conducted themselves well in the name of your school.

Yours Sincerely,

Glyn C Jones
